Yes, I know they changed the name, but I’m stuck in my ways.

An ad for a 4x4, 4.0 powered, stick shift Cherokee certainly seems like the work of a certain someone here.

I think $2500 for a unibody vehicle needing floors is a bit much. Especially because I’m sure we all know it won’t just be floors.

I was just reading that. I think that is still below market value assuming there is no significant body rot in more difficult to replace places. It’s a great combination and I love the unexpected purple and gold color combo. But I really do think that if you factor in the cost of having the floorboards replaced you’d still be pretty close in price to a non-rusty one.

When did they change the name? lol.

CP I say. Earliest I’d go would be 91 with the HO & ax-15.

It was changed when the powers that be decided crackheadedness was somehow a racial issue. I think we all know that in reality  it transcends race.

I had a post on it but never submitted it for NPCP.

Everyone will be happy to know I submitted an offer on the local “Volkswagen” Cherokee. It’s a lowball given the amount of money I’m going to have to put into it before I can even bring it home (leaks, exhaust) and before winter gets here (tires, spare wheel) but maybe I’ll get lucky.

I was wondering what was the outcome from your trip. Best of luck on the offer. I saw this on cragslist also:

Hadn’t noticed the Lucky Four Leaf Clover sticker. Because it was too reliable so you want to go and make it think it’s a Quadrifoglio Alfa.

If we all stopped talking about things we were maybe, possibly considering buying this place would lose 20% of it’s content.

Still, I think boredalways was about ready to find me and come slap me around for my indecisiveness. The perils of having an Oppo in the same city.

I saw that but then one of the pictures shows the shift lever.

Yep. I thought they might be talking about full-time 4wd, which some XJs offered, but from the fuzzy photo it doesn’t look like it.

What you should do is after you do buy something continue to post about ones you find and make a comparison between them and what you bought. We start a series debating about whether it’s a better or worse deal than what you bought.

I don’t think it was just a racial issue. I think it was recognizing addiction as a disease and not making a joke out of it. Necessary decision? No, probably not. But nothing wrong with the decision, either

Now that the one I found locally is sold... are you anywhere near that one to possibly check it out?

It’s a little over an hour from where I am. You might try the other members like opposaurus and fcaw to see if they can go because I think they are closer to Newton, I’m in the Springfield area (about 8 0 miles away) . If they can’t then I can try to go tomorrow or Monday . Is there a way we can contact each other without posting? I don’t know much about these Jeeps and if you can tell me what to look for, I can try my best to take pictures and look for the problem areas. Also reach out to the seller to make sure it’s still available.

That’s very generous , but there’s no need t o drive that far. I can arrange for an inspection if it’s still available, and/or see who’s closer.

Thanks!

No worries. I don’t mind since it allows me to get lunch at my favorite Thai place in Brookline. Best of luck with your search.

Heh, well, now that you said that, I’ll let you know if an opportunity to appeal to your stomach arises.

When I drove to check out the XJ Tuesday I took a long lunch so I could also drop by Quizno’s. Bought 3 foot-long subs and I’ve been eating them practically every meal this week.
